Deputy Head of Department Technology Analyses and Strategic Planning

Hans-Martin Pastuszka, graduated in economics (diploma degree), is Deputy Head of Department Technology Analyses and Strategic Planning at the Fraunhofer Institute for Technological Trend Analysis (INT) in Euskirchen, Germany. In his current work he focuses on analyses on security and defence research planning. These analyses comprise organisational and conceptual issues, the planning process itself and related activities, namely in the context of the FP7 Security Theme and the “Secure Societies” Challenge of H2020, and the European Framework Cooperation (EFC) between the European Commission, EDA and ESA. In security research, Hans-Martin was active in ESRIF (European Security Research and Innovation Forum, 2007 - 2009) as a member of the executive team of the ESRIF working group “Crisis Management”, and was co-author of its final report. Between October 2009 and April 2012, he was a member of the FP7 Security Advisory Group to the European Commission, and from May 2012 to July 2013 he was Seconded National Expert to the European Commission, DG Enterprise and Industry, Unit for Policy and Research in Security. During his secondment, he was responsible for the implementation of the part on security standardisation of the Security Industrial Policy and Action of the Commission, COM(2012)417. Hans-Martin participated in and contributed to various FP7-SEC projects (e.g. CRESCENDO, ETTIS), and he was the coordinator of the FP7-SEC project ACRIMAS (Aftermath Crisis Management System-of-systems Demonstration, Phase I).
