Nina Boy

Biography: 

Nina Boy is a senior researcher at the PRIO Security Research Group and coordinator of WP5 Societal security of financial systems. She holds a PhD in Politics from Lancaster University and an MA in International Studies & Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Her work has explored the security implications of sovereign creditworthiness, collateral security and the modern co-evolution of finance and society.

Nina has been a management team member of the COST Action System risk, financial credit and crisis from 2010-2014 and coordinated the working group 'Credit, crisis & culture' with a focus on finance-security relations. Earlier collaborative projects include The Social Determination of Risk (SORISK), European Security Threats and Trends in Society (ETTIS), as well as the organization of the workshop series Understanding ‘financial security’ in an age of uncertainty, funded by the Research Council of Norway, from 2009-2011. She has co-edited a special issue of Security Dialogue on the global governance of security and finance in 2011.
